EJF Philanthropies is helping support the Milken Scholars program in Washington, D.C.

The Milken Scholars Program was founded in 1989 by Lori and Michael Milken to honor exceptional young men and women based on their academic achievement, community service, leadership, and triumphs over obstacles. The Program provides financial assistance and life-time access to a vast array of academic and professional support and resources. Washington, D.C. Scholars will join an elite network of over 300 Scholars elected from high schools in Los Angeles County and New York City. With roots in over 60 countries, many Milken Scholars are the first in their family to attend college. Since 1989, the graduation rate from top U.S. colleges and universities is 99%, with Scholars further pursuing graduate degrees and careers in law, education, business, medicine, government, science, and research. Most importantly, Milken Scholars demonstrate an ongoing commitment to change the world around them and bring meaning to the Program’s motto – Lifelong Leaders for a Better World.
