Rabbi Michael Friedman is a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and seventh generation ordained rabbi. He works as a mental health therapist at "Lion Counseling" and serves as the Wellness Rabbi for "Nafshi," a non-profit organization that combines Jewish teachings with holistic principles of spiritual and emotional wellness.

Friedman leads ecumenical initiatives of hope and healing and frequently addresses interfaith audiences in topics such as Holocaust education and the effects of intergenerational trauma. He is passionate about the Black-Jewish alliance, and has taught a curriculum for intergroup relations as part of an Adult Education initiative at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas. On Martin Luther King Day in 2020, he hosted a community wide event promoting the Black-Jewish alliance entitled "Faith and Friendship."

He holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he promoted intergroup dialogue at the Nyumburu Cultural Center. He also holds a Bachelor's of Talmudic Law from Ner Israel Rabbical College and a Master's of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas - Dallas.
